Angular dependent magnetoresistance oscillations in semiconductor superlattice with incoherent interlayer coupling

摘要
We have studied the angular dependence of the interlayer magnetoresistance in semiconductor superlattices whose interlayer coupling is systematically changed. We found that when the system loses its interlayer coherence, the angular dependence of the background magnetoresistance drastically changes, but the angular dependent magnetoresistance oscillations (AMRO) still survive. In addition, we found that AMRO appear even in the quantum limit where only the lowest Landau level is occupied and the conventional AMRO cannot be expected. We also discuss the orbital confinement into a single well under magnetic fields parallel to the layers.
