Decision making process concerning the mine closing from the chronological point of view

Mine closure is caused by reserves depletion or by economic conditions what is the case of the Czech Republic in last years. The decline of demand for coal let to closure of many mines and production damping. The closure was performed in two ways: 1. rapid variant: without utilization of prepared coal reserves, with fast finishing of underground workplaces liquidation (disassembly of some machines only for ecological reasons), with rapid liquidation or sale of surface objects. 2, slow variant: with prepared coal reserves utilization, with extensive dismantling of machines and equipment, with withdrawal of support, with gradual liquidation of separated parts of mine and surface buildings and their alternative utilization. Each of both variants has its advantages and disadvantages. The contribution deals with the method of mining activity damping variant on the basis of economic criteria.
