Improving your EPH skills

Electrophoresis (EPH) has been applied to many areas of avian diagnostics. It is important that the practitioner have a basic understanding of the protein fractions as well as the technology behind this assay. Applying the principles is key to understanding normal EPH results as well as those with mild to marked changes in one or more protein fractions. In this presentation, a basic introduction and clinical cases will be presented. Research techniques such as high-resolution electrophoresis and current data regarding the tandem use of electrophoresis with other assays for infectious and liver disease will be discussed.
