摘要
Since the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, transportation systems and modes have ben in a continuous state of evolution to meet new public needs and to overcome limitations that be come apparent over time. This article provides a brief discussion of this evolution and how transportation modes were ultimately shaped by challenges to sustainability.
