摘要
Mass flow rate measurements for plain and abrasive water jet (AWJ) were performed at different pressures. Mathematical models were derived to predict mass flow rate, density and velocity. The water/slurry was collected over a given period of time using a high-pressure container. Consistency with the machine manual at the maximum pressure was observed. Mass flow rates for AWJ were found to be higher than plain water jets. The momentum transfer ratio was computed by measuring the ratio of abrasive to plain water jet impacting forces using piezoelectric transducers. Jet velocity and pressure showed linear relationship.
