Signal Bandwidth Estimation with Energy Detector Based on Windowed FFT for Cognitive Radio System

摘要
We evaluate an estimation scheme of unknown signal's bandwidth estimation with an energy detector based on a windowed fast Fourier transform (FFT) for cognitive radio system. When the cognitive node obtains the spectrum sensing results after a received time domain signal is processed with FFT, the detection results have a detection error at the adjacent FFT bins of the received signal frequency with high probability because of an energy leakage. Therefore, a window function is used for reducing the effect of the energy leakage. In this paper, we evaluate the spectrum sensing performance considering influences of the energy leakage and windowed waveform.
