摘要
In this work, electromagnetic (EM) energy radiating into a model of a human body carrying a Manpack transceiver is calculated numerically using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The specific absorption rate (SAR) values are calculated for the cases of a human body standing on dry and 13.77% wet loamy soil conditions at the frequencies of 80MHz and 150MHz. Initially the near- and far-field radiation field patterns of the Manpack transceiver in free space are validated by comparing computations from FDTD and the method of moments. This study shows that more EM radiated energy is coupled to the lower part of the body than to the upper region at 80MHz, while more energy is coupled to the upper body region at 150MHz. The wet loamy soil case resulted in higher SAR values in the foot region as compared to the dry loamy soil case.
