Net-based learning environments are increasingly referred to as an opportunity to foster the acquisition of applicable knowledge management skills, key qualifications, and knowledge that can be used to solve specific problems. At the University of Regensburg, we have analyzed the employment of Net-based learning environments during the last two years. Five virtual seminars, with their respective virtual learning environments and accompanying Courses, have been surveyed. We describe the theoretical framework of implementing virtual learning in educational science. The outcomes of our analysis are then discussed, with an examination of each course and lessons learned from the experience.
