摘要
This paper reports on the use of HPF (High Performance Fortran) language extensions for the? irregular computational and communications requirements arising in the contact-impact algorithms found in crashworthiness simulation codes. The HPF language extensions used are taken from the HPF+ language definition developed within the European Commission-funded project of the same name. The focus will be on the exploitation options of the HPF+ language for the most; complex kernels derived from the algorithms used within crashworthiness codes: those representing the proximity search and penetration detection tasks of the typical contact-impact algorithms. Using results for simpler kernels to motivate the possible performance gains, programming approaches with the HPF+ extensions will be described together with discussions of the challenges posed by such algorithms for HPF compilers.
