Investigation of the behavior of noise sources in heated jets

摘要
In this paper we show the results of three simulated jets of Mach number 0.8, Reynolds number 4, 000 where the jet inflow to environment temperature ratio is 0.85, 1.0 and 1.1 respectively. We demonstrate that the obtained noise levels are in agreement with published experimental data. We then compare the sound sources of each of the jets with the framework of Lighthill's acoustic analogy. In particular we compare the relative strengths of quadrupole and entropy sources for each case.
