摘要
Concrete composite structures are used widely in modern bridge and building construction. A composite member is formed when a steel component such as I-beam is attached to a concrete component act as a floor slab or bridge deck. The primary objective of this project is to study the flexural behaviour of the composite beam under single point loading by both experimental and analytical. The parameters varied in the study are type of connector (Headed stud connector and Channel connector) and number of connector (two and four). The concrete slab was made using M25 Grade of concrete. The load-deflection, load-strain and load-slip behaviour was studied by measuring deflection and slip between steel beam and concrete. From the experimental investigation the composite action was achieved in the composite beam. The load carrying capacity of composite beam with channel connector was increased when compared to beam with headed stud connector. The behaviour of the composite beam with four connectors performs better than the beam with two connectors. The stiffness of the shear connectors was also determined from the load- slip curve. The specimens were analysed using ANSYS and there was good agreement between experimental and analytical results.
