摘要
This paper considers power allocation in the downlink of a two-dimensional multi-cell wireless Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) voice networks. Voice service is a fixed-rate service, in which all users require the same target Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR). Thus, a user is either active with the amount of transmit power allocated to achieve the target SINR, or inactive with zero power allocated. The objective of power allocation is to maximize the total throughput, namely, the total number of active users, subject to the capacity constraint on the total available transmit power in each cell. Numerical results show that the solution mainly depends on the total available power. When the total available power is sufficiently small, each base station performs exactly the same, utilizing all the available power and activating the same amount of users. When the total available power is sufficiently large, to maximize the total throughput, only one base station uses substantially large amount of power, and the other two base stations use much less power with less users activated.
