The engineering profession can no longer be defined by listing a dozen of skills and qualities related to the engineers own field of technology Global markets and rapid development of technology set new requirements for education in the Learning Society. Especially engineers have to be able to continuously update their knowledge and skills. For engineering education, this means that the fundamental objective is to create a solid basic knowledge of the natural sciences and the ability and motivation to learn.
