摘要
The latest development in steam drying has mainly taken place in USA, where 6 large driers are now installed or under construction. Since 2003 a steam turbine has been used to drive the large fan of the drier. The world largest drier with a capacity of 83 t water evaporation per hour has been installed. It has 2 internal super heaters, whereby the reduction of power production is minimized. Correctly installed steam driers have no dust or odor emissions (VOC) at all. The fuel saving is larger than so far assumed. There can even be a reduction in fuel to the boiler house when installing a steam drier. Steam drying gives a greater reduction of CO, emission per invested Euro than in most other investments i.e. in ethanol plants.
