An application of a near-wall κ-(ε)over-tilde model to the turbulent channel flow with transpiration and to the oscillatory flow around a square cylinder

摘要
Various "low Reynolds number" k-epsilon models have been proposed. Among them, the present authors proposed a k-epsilon model to represent correctly the budget of turbulent energy near the wall. In the present study, the model is tested with application to complex flows; the flow with transpiration and the one past a square cylinder. The results in the flow with injection and suction are found to reproduce well the turbulent quantities obtained by DNS. In the oscillatory flow around a square cylinder, the calculated turbulence level behind the cylinder is significantly lower than the experimental one. However, the quantities required in the practical applications such as the drag coefficient and the averaged velocity profiles agree satisfactorily well with the experiment.
