摘要
Lighting load holds a major share of electricity consumed in domestic and office buildings. The available sunlight can effectively reduce these loads during daytime. Illumination of indoor locations using daylight in conjunction with the artificial lighting employing dimming control works best in the domain. Despite a wide range of developed and commercially available daylighting systems have been reported, their applications have been limited by a lack of studies on their utilizations and high initial costs. Computer simulations have been frequently used in the past to investigate daylighting performance due to reliable and accurate predictions. In this article performance of daylighting combined with artificial lighting (with dimming) has been evaluated on the basis of illumination distribution inside a conference hall and annual energy saving. It was observed that 56.3% of energy was saved on annual basis when the simulation was run on a case of Conference hall located at the MANIT, Bhopal. (c) 2020 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
