'Resource-Saving and Environment-Friendly' Social Development of Wuhan Metropolitan Area

摘要
Wuhan metropolitan area is now on the fast track of both industrialization and urbanization, and the 'resource-saving and environment-friendly' social development serves as a precious opportunity as well as a tense challenge. For one thing, it can make the best use of the core post and impact of Wuhan, the only ultra-metropolitan city in central china. For another, it can also prompt the reform of Wuhan metropolitan area, which will thereafter stimulate the development of Hubei province, even the development of whole central china, thus the uprising of central china can be realized. From the perspective of philosophical basis and sustainable development theory of 'resource-saving and environment-friendly' social development, the thesis points out the shortcomings lying in current 'resource-saving and environment-friendly' social development and puts forward relevant constructive suggestions, through a thorough analysis of current 'resource-saving and environment-friendly' situations of Wuhan metropolitan area, ranging from economical development, technological innovation, to consuming mode, and ecological protection.
