摘要
Despite the burden of addressing the increasing global food demand, the issue of minimizing food loss and waste has been given little attention. Post-harvest losses (PHL) are prevalent on the African continent. This affects the realization of the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) one which seeks to eliminate poverty and hunger. Technology interventions are crucial in addressing the issue of PHL, however, the poor deployment of technology and insufficient access to market information further exacerbates the issue of PHL in Africa. Because of the poor agricultural infrastructure in Sub-Saharan Africa, expedition of the sale of agri-food produce by farmers constitute the major means of minimizing PHL, thereby highlighting the crucial role of marketing to agri-food producers in Sub-Saharan Africa. The study seeks to contribute to the minimization of PHL in Africa through ICT enabled supply chain visibility (SCV) using a design science approach.
