The use of music in German teaching lessons - wishes and reality

Music and language belong to communication types of exchange and convey different types of information among people. Language has an important role in everyday life of humans and has a considerable importance in knowledge and information transmission. The music is a kind of an international language, which can be understood without words. The connection between music and foreign language teaching is relatively clear, mainly the connection between the phonetic and phonological level and musical perception, for example the use of music in the practice of correct pronunciation, intonation, rhythm and speech melody. Based on content analysis, in this article we would like to point out the lack of music in German language textbooks.
