Analysis and design for Ka-band doubler with CAD technology

摘要
This paper presents theoretical analysis circuit design of Ka-band frequency doubler using two beam-lead Schottkybarrier diodes as varistors. Characters and applications of non-liner components are researched. CAD technology is applied to design the doubler, which includes an anti-parallel diode pair and the microstrip circuit. Influence of cavity to the microstrip circuit is fully considered during the CAD process and accurate model is set up. The input circuit and output circuit of a frequency doubler are realized by using low loss suspend stripline(suspended LPF, SCPW) and fin line. Input and output signals are isolated and harmonic component of the output signal is very low by using a unique planar balanced circuit structure. Input frequency is 13similar to20 GHz. Output frequency is 26similar to40 GHz. Conversion loss is 11.2 +/- 1.8dB. It can extend microwave signal source to Ka-band.
