摘要
We analyze the far-field pattern symmetry of the planar spiral antenna backed by a ground plane. And a method to improve the pattern symmetry is proposed. By reducing the back radiation of the higher frequency band, an improved spiral antenna configuration is presented. This configuration replaces the center section of the planar spiral with a conical spiral. The broadside gain, axial ratio and pattern symmetry are compared. The results show that this novel configuration can achieve better far-field symmetry at a wider band.
