摘要
The application of IEC 61508 can be daunting to the uninitiated. However, the standard provides an opportunity to meet industry best while presenting opportunities for significant cost savings. The use of software tools is important if the application of the standard is to be implemented efficiently and an auditable live database is to be created which will enable management of systems throughout their lifecycle.
