摘要
This report reviews optical switching technology using electrooptic material. Firstly, guided-wave optical switch using single routing stage and then devices implemented by connecting multiple ranks of switching elements are described. The number of modes used in operation and the device structure can classify switching elements. Representative switching network architectures constructed by connecting switching elements are shown. Some device demonstrations using lithium niobate and other materials such as compound semiconductor are introduced.
