A synthesis of cage-shaped compounds-(IS,4S,5R)-4-hydroxy-2,6-diazabicyclo[3.3.0]octane and (IS,4R,SR)-4-hydroxy-2-oxa-6-azabicyclo[3.3.0]octane described. The test for enantioselective catalysis also reported. (C) 1997, Elsevier Science Ltd.
