摘要
Replaceable steel coupling links have been proposed as an alternative to RC coupling beams to improve seismic resiliency of coupled wall structures. This paper presents a series of quasi-static tests conducted to investigate the seismic behaviour of coupling links employed stainless steel S304. The impact of steel type, web thickness and the stiffener number on the shear capacity and energy dissipation capacity was studied. The results showed that the major failure modes included web and flange buckling, flange-endplate weld seam fracture, web-endplate weld joint cracked and web rupture. Adopting stainless steel can enhance the seismic behaviour of coupling link. Cracking of web hindered the development of shear capacity and larger rotation.
