摘要
Tobo Gas Co., Ltd. and Sumitomo Precision Products Co., Ltd. have been jointly developing a SOFC system using scandia stabilized zirconia electrolyte cells. In addition to our previous two models of 1 kW class SOFC systems (alpha and beta-models), the third generation 1 kW class SOFC system (gamma-model) has been developed; this has the steam reformer integrated with cell stack and the burner for starting up. Firstly, it was confirmed that the steam reformer operated successfully compared the results of the gas analysis with the equilibrium calculation. Next, the electrical power output of 1180 W was achieved at a fuel utilization of 73 % and the electrical efficiency of 53% (DC, LHV) was obtained. Moreover, it was concluded that the thermal design of the hot module was important to achieve highly efficient SOFC system from the evaluation of heat balance.
