摘要
The article deals with the issue of Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs) as an important part of the issue of Safety Management System (SMS). In the introductory part, the authors emphasize the importance of the SMS in the context of ICAO documents and European Union legislation. The second chapter provides a brief description of SMS components and elements. In the third part of the article, the authors provide information on the issue of safety performance monitoring and measurement as the basic element of safety assurance and focused on information concerning the types of SPIs and aspects, which characterizing well-defined SPIs. The fourth part of the paper presents examples of selected SPIs, which can be applied in the conditions of production organizations of the aviation industry.
