摘要
A background level of soil pollution was found of 0.2-3.5 kBq/m(2) for Sr-90 and 1.0-7.6 kBq/m(2) for Cs-137 in the Ural Region between 55 degrees and 57 degrees N. The average contents of Sr-90 in the above-ground mass of herbaceous plants, mosses, and lichens were equivalent, while the contents of Cs-137 were much higher in mosses and lichens than in herbaceous plants. The maximum range of variability of the storage capacity in relation to Sr-90 was observed in herbaceous plants, while that for Cs-137 was found in mosses. The content of radionuclides is determined by the species characteristics of plants within each taxonomic group.
