Calculation procedure for steam condensation in plate heat exchangers

摘要
Correlations for heat transfer and pressure drop of steam condensation in plate heat exchangers (PHEs) are briefly reviewed. A stepwise calculation method for this process is described in detail. The heat transfer and pressure drop are calculated simultaneously along the plate. This method is suitable for the design as well as for analysis of experimental data. Based on this method, some experimental results are also presented. This method is also valid for other applications in PHEs provided the fluid properties and single-phase correlations are available.
