摘要
A high-gain lens antenna is designed for the fifth generation (5G) communication system applications. The structure of the proposed design includes a coaxial-fed patch antenna, and multiple-layer dielectric lens. The central frequency of the patch antenna is 17.5 GHz, and the substrate is designed by RT/duroid 5880. The antenna structure is simulated in CST Microwave Studio. The simulation results show that the peak gain of lens antenna is highly enhanced from 8.18 dB to 16.3 dB, and also the main beam width is greatly reduced by 50 degrees due to the remarkable features of dielectric lens.
