A Web-Based Information System Applied on Utilization/Benefit Management of Medical Equipment in Hospital

摘要
Intelligent management of medical equipments is vital to hospital. Most hospitals spend large budgets in purchasing medical equipments, but there is no perfect monitoring mechanism to immediately understand the benefits of these devices and their designated goals. Today the hospital is operated in a serious competitive environment. It needs to have an effective management to control income and the cost of equipments operations. In this paper, we will present a web-based information system for monitoring the utilization benefits of medical equipment in hospital. This system will provide real-time information to effectively monitoring the status of equipments. The goal of this system is to achieve maximum utility, increase revenues, and reduce the cost of idle equipments or unnecessary purchases. To proof our system, we will use the computed tomography equipment as an example. We will show the monthly amount of usages and incomes, their detailed records, and a usage quantity chart for the whole year. Through this information, the management can effectively upgrade the usages of medical equipments and minimize operations cost.
