摘要：
Intelligent agent is a system built to act on users' behalf. It is installed with intelligence and allowed to have certain degree of autonomous decision making. This paper addresses the foundation and status of an intelligent agent, and introduces its applications and impacts on the society and organization. The concerns and related issues are also discussed in the paper.
