Masses and mixings of Dirac neutrinos and the νμ ⇆ ντ symmetry

Assuming that neutrinos are Dirac fields, we introduce a general parameterization for neutrino mass matrix to account for masses and mixings in the almost nu(mu) <-> nu(tau) symmetric limit. We produce general formulae for sin theta(13) and for the deviation of theta(23) from maximality. We observe finally that the contribution from the symmetry breaking due to charged lepton sector is very small in the minimally extended model.
