摘要
This paper describes the teaching and research work carried out in the department of Design, Manufacture and Engineering Management of the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK The paper firstly gives an overview of industrial engineering, and visualisation. This will then be explored and discussed in the context of teaching and research into product development. Focus of the paper will be on the latest development and application of computer technologies applied in modem product development, including both domestic products as well as industrial systems. The paper will describe the applications of these advanced computer techniques in various aspects of computer modelling and evaluation. Some past projects results will be used to illustrate the role computer techniques play in modem engineering and engineering design.
