摘要
The BL Lac object PKS 2155-304 was studied in two very deep ROSAT HRI observations in May and in November, 1996. The observed intensity variations can be represented by a superposition of individual 'shots' of similar duration (similar to 1 day) and amplitude and long term smooth luminosity changes. A comparison with previous ROSAT observations confirms the persistence of these phenomena. The close correspondence between the light curves of November 1996 and November 1991 strongly argues against a micrc-lensing interpretation of these achromatic variations. BL Lac objects might just be the first active galactic nuclei where system intrinsic periodic variations can be observed in X-rays.
