Annotation The article deals with a problem of the traditional culture as a factor in the development of urban tourism. There are presented cultural phenomena, events, image of the city, the atmosphere of Zvolen. An emphasis is placed on the acts that constitute the historical continuum and part of the contemporary city of culture. The contribution will focus on the strategy of the city, with an emphasis on traditional culture.
