摘要
Diesel engine development is facing limitations - particularly in order to fulfil the increasingly stringent exhaust gas emission regulations - which can only be met in some cases with unreasonably great effort. Fuels better suited for Diesel engines would mitigate these problems. Regrowing plant oil fuels feature excellent environmental and operational characteristics for this purpose which become effective particularly when the engines are optimised for Biodiesel as fuel. The emission and engine performance advantages described and justified here have hardly been investigated previously. This provides an unusually wide and promising development potential with the prospect of devising very comfortable, relatively uncomplicated Diesel vehicles which are very compatible with the environment and can also fulfil the stringent future regulations for exhaust gas emission. This approach appears especially attractive both in terms of technical as well as national economic considerations.
