摘要
In this paper we propose a framework for analyzing the performance of Ultra Wide Band (UWB) receiver architectures in sparse multipath channels with intra-pulse interference. In particular, we develop an analytical method based on approximating the Moment Generating Function (MGF) of the received Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) via Pade expansion. We derive closed-form expressions for the Average Bit Error Probability (ABEP) and Outage Probability (Pout) that can be easily used for performance analysis and comparison of Stored-Reference and Transmitted-Reference receivers. The methodology is applicable to any fading scenarios, provided that the MGF of the SNR can be characterized in terms of a convergent Pade expansion. While the proposed analysis turns out to be very general, computer simulations and numerical results are compared, in selected reference scenarios, to verify the validity and the accuracy of the theoretical approach.
