Growth of K2Mg2(SO4)(3) and K2Mn2(SO4)(3) from solution by solvent evaporation and diffusion-reaction methods

摘要
Crystals of K2Mg2(SO4)(3) and K2Mn2(SO4)(3), have been grown by slow evaporation of solvent and by a diffusion-reaction technique in a gelified media at 85 and 80 degrees C, respectively. The obtained crystals were characterized by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), UV-visible and IR spectroscopy. The morphologies observed were interpreted as a function of supersaturation.
