Rural development - a priority of the Romanian policies

In principle, the rural development means the action taken to improve the life quality of the population living in the rural area. The programs for rural development, programs assist by EU and Structural Founds it. concern many sectors: infrastructure development, rural tourism, encouraged middle and smalls companies, changed the education system etc. The rural area in our country represents 89% of country surface. The agricultural and rural department repartitions the country in eighth development regions. In each region is work and agency of rural development. Therefore in period 2000-2006 Romania gets 153 millions Euro/annual for rural development. In period 2002-2003 was a approve measures for: processing, infrastructure, agricultural exploitations and in the futures (2005-2006) we take measures for: water resources management, and environment and silviculture.
