摘要
In 22th of September 2010, within the framework of the EU "car free day", pilot measures were implemented at Aristole University of Thessaloniki, Greece. The objective of these measures was the exclusion of the private cars from the campus as well as the promotion of sustainable ways of travel from and to the university, such as walking and cycling. Few days after that date, an electronic questionnaire was distributed by email to the employees and students of the University in order to examine the level of acceptance and adoption of this initiative. In total, 300 valid questionnaires were collected. For the purposes of the study, an Exploratory Factor Analysis was applied and a mixture Structure Equation Model was developed. The analysis showed that the frequency of car usage for the daily travel activity (car dependency) is not in favor of promoting and supporting radical sustainable mobility measures.
