摘要
In this study, an energy performance evaluation of 25 member states of the European Union, Norway, Switzerland, Croatia, and Turkey, a candidate country, regarding sectoral energy consumption was conducted by using data envelopment analysis in order to allow us to draw up a good energy policy in the future. Since the data on Malta and Cyprus was incomplete, these two nations were excluded from the evaluation. The data set covers the years between 1998 and 2006 and energy indicators used in the analysis are taken from the European Statistical System (EUROSTAT) for all countries. Results of the analysis show that Turkey's most important goal for the future is to produce proper sectoral energy policies.
