摘要
A series of new 2,5-disubstituted-1,3,4-oxadiazoles have been prepared. Their structures were confirmed by elemental analysis, IR and (13)C NMR spectral data. The antimicrobial properties of the compounds were investigated against bacterial strains i.e., Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus and fungal strains i.e., Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans using disk diffusion method. Some of the compounds demonstrated marked antibacterial and antifungal activities. The efforts were also made to establish structure-activity relationships among the synthesized compounds.
