摘要
If grid integration concerns have come to the fore in recent years as an issue that may impede the widespread deployment of wind generators into power systems, available scheduling algorithms to allow their seamless penetration to grid has lagged its explosive growth. This paper proposes a model to optimally commit generating units while simultaneously determining the geographical allocation of the required reserve, by mixed integer quadratic programming (MIQP). We consider an interconnected multi-area power system with cross-border trading in the presence of wind electric generators (WEGs). An evaluation of risk due to wind forecast errors is implemented as the expected energy not served (EENS) from WEGs. The proposed methodology is examined on a realistic test system and various effects of grid integration on reducing the overall operating costs associated with more wind power in the system are investigated.
