DIDACTIC GAMES IN THE TEACHING LEARNING PROCESS OF FOREING LANGUAGES: CURRENT APPROACHES

摘要
This article is the result of an exhaustive bibliographic review about the validity of didactic games in the process of teaching foreign languages with emphasis on English. For the writing of this paper three fundamental axes were used: a) concept of games from psychology and didactics b) types of research related to games and their classifications and characteristics according to the ages of the learners c) the reported influence on the implementation of didactic games in the teaching of foreign languages. The methodology makes it possible to address inclusion and exclusion criteria for the selection of appropriate information and the sources consulted. As a result of this research, there are advantages and disadvantages of the use of games in the teaching of English as well as an updated view of their implementation in language teaching.
