On performance of coherent phase-shift-keying modulation in 40 Gb/s long-haul optical fiber transmission systems

摘要
We compare the performance of coherent binary-phase-shift-keying and incoherent differential-binary-phase-shift-keying formats in linear and nonlinear 40-Gb/s systems. We show that intra-channel nonlinear interactions severely degrade the coherent binary-phase-shift-keying performance in highly nonlinear systems. (C) 2005 Optical Society of America.
