摘要
With the rapid development of China's economy and society, the relationship between urbanization and economy growth has been one of important and ongoing hot issues to both the government and the academia. Owing to the lacking of empirical and thorough analysis to the internal urbanization mechanism, it is essential to reconstruct the valuing system of the economy growth and social welfare as well as to empirically Study the interaction between urbanization level and economy development. Considering the limitation of the GDP indicator, this paper examines the relationship from three dimensions including time series, population scale and development stage, using the human development index (HDI) established by UNDP as the representative variable of the degree of one country's total economy development. Besides, the research result is applied to analyze China's urbanization level and the working mechanism behind it. In conclusion, the policy suggestions are proposed in order to facilitate China's urbanization progress properly.
