摘要：
The research project ERIS comprises the development of an epidemiological spatial information system, to be used by epidemiologists. Although geoinformatics and medicine seem to be two quite different research fields, the combination of these two sciences leads to new, complementary investigation methods, especially in epidemiology. The challenge is to integrate all elements of spatial epidemiological research (visualisation, database queries, statistics, the time element) into one system.
