(Figure Presented) Two significant advances in the development of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are perfluoro MOFs (see structure) with an outstanding volumetric gas uptake and hysteretic sorption of dihydrogen. The modular synthesis of functional MOFs involves a two-component framework, in which one component is an integral component of the framework and the other can be exchanged after formation of the matrix. © 2008 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
