摘要
The article presents author's reflections on the collective monograph "Precariat: the emergence of a new class", published in 2020 under the editorship of Zh.T. Toshchenko. From the theoretical and methodological basis of precariat to the analysis of its specific manifestations on the Russian labor market, the book consistently reveals the evolution of a new social class in the structure of modern society. A close scrutiny of the results of the research, whose value for scholarship and practice is beyond question, prompted us to stress the importance of discussing the idea of interpreting the precariat as an interclass social group due to the heterogeneity of its composition. We also consider it possible to draw attention to limitations of the dichotomy of "standard-nonstandard" employment when referring to the issues of sustainability in labor relations. Concluding emphasis is on significance of the study and expresses the need to continue the work to deepen understanding of the life-world of the precariat.
